Split PDF
Cut one PDF into several. Split into single pages, into chunks of a fixed size, or at the exact points you choose — the results come back together as a ZIP.
Free, no account, and your file is never uploaded.

How to split a PDF
- 1Choose the PDF you want to cut up.
- 2Pick how to split it: one file per page, every N pages, or at page numbers you name.
- 3Split, then download the ZIP containing the resulting files.
Worth knowing
- The file never leaves your computer. Every one of these tools runs inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no copy on a server, nothing to delete afterwards and no queue of other people’s documents next to yours.
- Three ways to cut. One file per page turns a 40-page report into 40 files. Fixed chunks give you evenly sized pieces. Custom cuts let you say "split after 3, 9 and 17" when the document has real sections.
- Every piece keeps the original quality. Pages are copied across rather than re-rendered, so text stays text and images keep their resolution.
- You get a ZIP, not a stream of downloads. Splitting a long document produces a lot of files, and browsers block repeated downloads. Packaging them into one archive avoids that entirely.
When to use it
- Separating a scanned batch of invoices into one file per invoice.
- Breaking a long report into chapters so each one can be sent to the person it concerns.
- Making a large PDF small enough for an email or upload limit by cutting it into parts.
Questions
- How do I split a PDF into individual pages?
- Choose the one-file-per-page option. A 40-page document becomes 40 PDFs, delivered together in one ZIP.
- Can I split a PDF at specific pages?
- Yes. Name the pages to cut after, for example after pages 3, 9 and 17, and each section becomes its own file.
- Does splitting change the pages?
- No. Pages are copied rather than re-rendered, so each piece keeps the original text and image quality.

- Why won't my PDF compress? What makes it big, and what to do
Most large PDFs are large because of images. If yours will not shrink, it usually has no images to shrink, or its images are of a kind a browser tool cannot re-encode.
