Worth knowing

• The file never leaves your computer. Every one of these tools runs inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no copy on a server, nothing to delete afterwards and no queue of other people’s documents next to yours.
• The pages that stay are untouched. Nothing is re-rendered or recompressed, so the remaining pages keep their text, their image quality and their file size.
• Deleting is not redacting. Removing a page removes everything on it. Removing sensitive text from a page you are keeping is a different job — covering it with a black box in an editor leaves the text underneath, where anyone can copy it out.
• Keeping is sometimes easier than deleting. If you want three pages out of ninety, Extract pages is the quicker way round.

When to use it

• Removing blank pages a scanner picked up.
• Taking internal notes or a cover page out before sending a document to a client.
• Dropping pages that do not concern the recipient.

Questions

Does deleting a page remove its content completely?

Yes. A deleted page and everything on it are gone from the new file.

Is deleting the same as redacting?

No. To hide text on a page you are keeping, you need real redaction; a black box drawn over text can still leave the text underneath.

What is quicker if I only need a few pages?
