Merge PDFs

How to merge PDF files
- 1Choose the PDFs you want to join. Add as many as you need.
- 2Drag them into the order the finished document should read in.
- 3Merge, then download the single combined PDF.
Worth knowing
- The file never leaves your computer. Every one of these tools runs inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no copy on a server, nothing to delete afterwards and no queue of other people’s documents next to yours.
- Pages are copied, not re-rendered. The page objects are moved into the new document as they are, so text stays selectable, images keep their original resolution and nothing is recompressed. A merged file is as sharp as the files that went into it.
- No file or page limit. Because the work happens on your own machine there is no upload cap and no free-tier page limit. The practical ceiling is your computer’s memory.
- A password-protected file has to be unlocked first. An encrypted PDF cannot be read until the password is removed. Unlock it first, then merge.
When to use it
- Combining scanned receipts into one file for an expense claim.
- Putting a cover letter, CV and certificates into a single PDF for an application portal that accepts one upload.
- Joining the separate chapters of a report into one document before sending it to a client.
Questions
- Does merging PDFs reduce quality?
- No. Pages are copied into the new file as they are, without re-rendering or recompressing, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution.
- Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?
- There is no file or page cap. The work happens on your own computer, so the practical limit is its memory.
- Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
- Not until the password is removed. Unlock the file first, then merge it.
